The Project for the Development of Family Commercial Fish Farming (PISCOFAM), for a period of 5 years (2019-2013) and whose client is the Ministry of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Fisheries.
Maritime Economy (MPAEM) of the Republic of Guinea, is
structured in three components and three areas of intervention:
- Component 1, based on N’Zérékoré, aims at densification and extension of rice-fish culture and the professionalisation of the rice-fish farmers sector in Guinée Forestière and, by adaptation, in the south of Upper Guinea.
- Component 2, based in Dubreka, allows the implementation of fish-farming research-actions in Guinea-Maritime on new adapted benchmarks for rice-fish farming in the rice-growing areas of mangroves and in lowland areas in terms of pisci-rice cultivation in dam ponds, plot rice-fish farming and fish culture in diversion ponds.
• Component 3, based in Conakry, provides coordination, institutional support and environmental and social monitoring.
